Current Features
- Take MPEG2 from DVD
- Reprocess audio
- Uses GSTREAMER as a compressor
- Basic Q&A with a GUI tool to at least chop start/end of talk: mux into a new container, rather then re-encode
- Process to then add intro/outtro. This will have:
- Intro: LCA logo, linux.conf.au 2008 text
- intro: Talk details (Talk name, talk author)
- outro: Sponsor logos, text (need details)
- outro: copyright info (CC license?)
- outro: names of those involved in producing video; primarily that theatre's AV team (both as a thankyou & a way hopefully for the team to take a bit more dedication to the task)
- Encode into OGG Theora (w/ Vorbis audio)
- Add appropriate metadata to the OGG headers (Speaker, license, etc.)
- Also encode a dupe of the audio to OGG Speex
Feature Requests
- Integrate with HAL so the talk prompt is given on DVD insertion?
- Upload to mirror.linux.org.au
- Reference page of links.
- If possible GUI tool can be used to check audio / video lighting levels to make consistent (need reference material to match)
