Previous Years from conv with Glenn Turner, AARNET
- AARNET is happy to continue Sponsorship of LCA
- They would like it they could get their arse into gear Re: Pamphlett for Bags (they missed 07 due to probs re: their end)
- We have two options;
- Venue provides network &/or subnet, we advise AARNET, they turn billing off for that subnet (LCA05)
- AARNET provide fibre to the Uni and LCA uses venue fibre/copper to reticulate traffic where needed (LCA07)
- Also, we can tell AARNET how many people are coming and how many other misc IP's we need, and they present us with as many subnets as we need still with the Factory Sticker on them.
- AARNET would like a copy of the DHCP logs and if possible the web axxs logs, but even with everyone shouting "PHAT PIPE" and making their own portable mirror onto their laptops, we don't even blip their usage, so they don't really care about usage stats.
- AARNET is happy to provide us with a Fibre switch and a few 100Mb ether switches if we need them as part of the sponsor ship, this might free up HP sponsor $$ for giveways rather than infrastructure.
Venue WiFi
- Single AP with 2 Switch ports active , one to Annotator, other to presentation desk
Accomodation WiFi
Accomodation Network is outsources and not our concern
Accomodation Wired
See above. Preference is for Wifi at accom, as too many people on ethernet runs the risk of killing group efforts (everyone will stay in their room and irc from there).
Static IPs
- bzzt* Not going to happen
Transparent Proxy
These days we can get away with a transparent proxy as long as subversion works trough it.
