Keynotes

There are 3 keynote slots (mornings of Wed (opening main conf), Thu, and Fri)

Days

There are six days. Of these, Mon and Tue are mini-confs while Wed, Thu, Fri are the conference proper. Tutorials are in the morning session of Wed and Thursday.

Others that shouldn't be forgotten: BoFs, lightning talks, keysigning, LPI exams. See also OtherActivities.

Evenings

There are six evenings.

  • Sun: early registration, pre-conf event
  • Mon: ?
  • Tue:
    • Speakers' Dinner
    • (alt events for non-speakers)
  • Wed: Penguin Dinner - for everyone!
  • Thu:
    • Professional Networking
    • optional (cheap) hobby/student event.
      • This can be as simple as 'hey, everyone come to this pub', and organising with that pub for slightly cheaper drinks, assuming >= 100 people.
      • Possibly called the "Amateur / Student Networking Event"? :-)
  • Fri: Party party.
  • Sat evening - the conf is over, so nothing (unless we want a dead penguin party...)
    • Recovery party for the organisers? Let your hair down, Sunday morning isn't too much of an issue. It seems to be semi-traditional to have a BBQ for organisers, and speakers and whoever else, at someone's house. For obvious reasons, numbers can't be too big here, though. OTOH, if a BYO BBQ is held along the Yarra or at another public BBQ venue, this is less of an issue.
